সফিউর রহমান মুবারকপুরী (রহ.)

Allama Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri (رحمه الله) Allama Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri (1943–2006). His full name was Safiur Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Muhammad Akbar ibn Muhammad Ali ibn Abdul Momen Mubarakpuri Azmi. He was a renowned Islamic writer and one of the famous hadith scholars (Muhaddith) of the Indian subcontinent. His book on the life of the Prophet ﷺ, Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar), became extremely popular worldwide. It won first place in the International Seerah Competition and has been translated into numerous languages. He was born on June 4, 1942, in Husainabad, Mubarakpur, Azamgarh district of India. In his childhood, he studied under local teachers and gained knowledge in Arabic language, grammar, literature, fiqh, usul al-fiqh, tafsir, hadith, and other Islamic sciences. In 1961, he earned an advanced degree in Shariah and at the same time began teaching in madrasas and writing. In 1969, he started teaching at Dar al-Ta’lim Madrasa in Mubarakpur, and in 1974 he joined Jamia Salafia in Banaras as a teacher. From 1988, he served at the Research Institute for the Biography of the Prophet ﷺ at the Islamic University of Madinah. Later, he was also responsible for research work at Maktaba Darussalam in Riyadh. In addition, he served as the editor of the monthly Muhaddith magazine in Banaras. He authored over thirty books in Arabic and Urdu. On Friday, December 1, 2006, at around 2:00 PM, this great scholar departed from this transient world to the presence of his Lord.
